Salesforce packages are collections of metadata that can be easily installed into your Salesforce org. This article will guide you through the process of installing a Salesforce package from a URL.

Please note: To install the package, a SF admin with permissions to add package to SF is required.

Navigate to this URL to install the SFDC package. Select to “Install for ‘all users’” (this step may take a few minutes).

Step 1

If you are not already logged in to your Salesforce org, you will be prompted to do so. Enter your username and password to continue.

Step 2

Install the package. After logging in, you will be taken to the Salesforce Package Installation page. Review the package details, and then click the “Install” button. If the package requires any additional permissions or access, you will be prompted to grant them at this time.

Step 3

Wait for the installation to complete. The package installation may take a few minutes to complete, depending on the size of the package and the complexity of its components. You can monitor the progress of the installation on the Package Installation page.

Step 4

Display the widget on the account page. After the package installation is complete, you may need to take additional steps to display the widget on the account page. The specific steps will vary depending on the package and the widget, but in general, you will need to:

  • Navigate to the account page where you want to display the widget.

  • Click the “Edit Page” button to enter the Lightning App Builder.

  • Locate the component for the widget in the list of available components and drag it onto the page.

  • Configure the widget settings as needed, such as the data source or display options.

  • Save the changes to the page and exit the Lightning App Builder.

Congratulations, you have successfully installed a Salesforce package and displayed a widget on the account page!

A few notes:

  • Authentication is done by exchanging the SFDC admin user with Staircase AI admin user. Which means:

    • The email address of the user in Staircase AI and SFDC must be identical

    • User in Staircase AI must be active

      • If either of the above conditions isn’t true then the user will see an unauthenticated page, without access to the data

  • Permissions are preserved in the iFrame just as the user would have in Staircase AI.

  • Only accounts synced into Staircase AI will have data in the iFrame.
